Colombia’s new government has cut diplomatic ties with Iran, saying the move was based on “hemispheric national security” concerns.

BIG: Saudi Arabia, Türkiye , and Pakistan are convening an urgent chiefs-of-staff meeting under their Mecca Joint Defence Pact after intensifying Houthi attacks on Saudi territory.

This is the first activation-level move under the pact, which treats an attack on one as an attack on all three.

The trigger: Saudi air defenses intercepted six ballistic missiles targeting Taif and Yanbu on September 24, with separate Houthi claims of hitting Riyadh and Aramco sites.

France has also offered troops, radars, and air defense for Yanbu.

No specific military support announced yet, any deployment requires a formal Saudi request.
