Robert Kraft recently pressured Ed Sheeran to drop Macklemore from his tour over pro-Palestine comments.

Then claimed he's spent "decades" supporting Palestinians and pledged $2M in aid.

But an Intercept analysis of tax records tells a different story.

Since 2006, Kraft's foundation donated $196K to Friends of the IDF (earmarked for promoting education for young Jewish soldiers), $3M through his LLC to AIPAC's super PAC (which targets pro-Palestine candidates), and $20M to found an organization that explicitly opposes the BDS movement.

He's also funded CAMERA ($63.5K), a group that calls evidence of genocide in Gaza "the Gaza GenoLie," and the Investigative Project on Terrorism ($50K), which CAIR considers part of the U.S. Islamophobia network.

Netanyahu himself once called Kraft Israel's "most loyal friend."

None of these groups appear to create jobs or dialogue for Palestinians, as Kraft claims.

He didn't disclose which organizations would receive his $2M pledge.

I think the whole logic that Russia somehow lost something because of Ukrainian independence is completely wrong. What is bad for Russia about having a free and prosperous neighbor?

But there is an answer as to why it matters specifically to Putin. Putin wants to preserve a particular political model. He does not want democracy, and Ukraine presents an alternative future for Russia: a free country, a free press, a pluralistic society, free media.

He hates that. That is the problem. The threat to his ideology is not Ukraine as such, but a free Ukraine.

If Russia wanted to live with Ukraine in peace and harmony, both countries would prosper.
