ExxonMobil is in talks to return to Venezuela’s oil sector, considering the Petromonagas heavy oil project in the Orinoco Belt and areas in the Carabobo block.
The move would mark a reversal of Exxon’s 2007 exit after Venezuela nationalized its assets under former President Hugo Chavez.
The company has sent technical teams to evaluate opportunities, while rivals including Chevron and Eni have already expanded projects in the country.

Clash Report
NEW: Türkiye is dismantling a Ponzi-like fund scheme on the Borsa Istanbul (BIST), the country's main stock exchange. Tera Portföy and Pusula Portföy delivered returns measured in thousands of percent by pumping investor money into their own affiliated low…
Two Turkish financiers at the center of the Borsa Istanbul fund crisis.
Emre Tezmen (52). CFA holder, Belgian-educated, founded Tera Group in 2005 after selling his house and car. He holds dual Turkish-Belgian (EU) citizenship.
Built it into a financial empire (brokerage, banking, portfolio management, cybersecurity). Forbes listed him at $1.3 billion in March 2026.
Largest shareholder of TERA on Borsa Istanbul. Now has a travel ban imposed on him as the investigation deepens.
Serdar Turhan (mid-30s).
Chairman of Pusula Holding and Katılımevim (interest-free home/car savings scheme serving large numbers of customers).
Resigned from boards on Sept 13, just before everything collapsed.
Reports cite Greek residency, a mansion in Greece, villa in Dubai, private jet and yacht. Travel ban imposed.
The connection: Tera agreed to acquire Pusula's financial companies, with Tezmen replacing Turhan as chairman.
Then it all unraveled.
Pusula's portfolio chief Muhammed Yarız fled by boat from Marmaris toward Greece (he claims he was "resting"), SPK froze 130 funds from seven companies, ordered liquidations.
Both men now face travel bans and an expanding Istanbul prosecutor's investigation.
Hedef Holding got pulled into the same crisis.
The Gökalp family's listed investment holding (Hedef Portföy, İnfo Yatırım, Hedef Yatırım Bankası) isn't owned by Tezmen or Turhan, but the links are there.
Pusula funds held shares in Hedef Holding, and Hedef Portföy was one of the seven companies whose funds SPK froze — 31 funds, the largest number on the list.
Yesterday, police searched İnfo Yatırım and chairman Namık Kemal Gökalp was taken in for questioning in connection with the same broader investigation.
HEDEF shares had already crashed through multiple limit-down sessions.

Polish PM Donald Tusk:
We certainly will not naively accept messages that Russia has goodwill and that it will begin behaving properly.
Nothing indicates that. Neither history nor the actions of recent days.
Poland and Poles cannot afford naivety or wishful thinking.
We must operate on facts, and they are clear.

Nobody does anyone a favour here. Without Poland, no decision will be made that concerns security from the East.
Poland is absolutely key here because of its geography and potential.
We are building the strongest army in this part of the world. We are spending the most money on defence proportionally.

I fear that by winter we will witness increasingly severe attacks by Russia on energy infrastructure.
And I can only express hope that these provocations and attacks will not go beyond Ukraine’s borders.
But hope, unfortunately, is not certainty.
We are preparing here in Poland for different scenarios.

BIG: Saudi Arabia asked China to privately pressure Iran into restraining the Houthis after their seizure of Yemen's Red Sea coast and Bab al-Mandeb.
Three Iranian sources say Beijing passed the message to Tehran — going beyond its public calls for restraint.
Iran's response: regional stability depends on ending the US-Israeli war against us first.
China issued no threats and didn't leverage its economic power over Tehran.

President Trump was not just my president, he was my friend.
We forged a close working relationship over those years. Truly did. I mean, some people think we’re a little bit different.
I told people actually, if you think about it, other than a whole lot of zeros, Donald Trump and I had a lot in common.

Claims that Xi Jinping fainted or had a stroke at the BRICS Summit in New Delhi turned out to be fake.
India's MEA issued an official "Fake Alert", calling the posts "malicious."
The rumors originated from a Chinese exile opposition figure and spread after Xi skipped a gala dinner and a video showed Modi pausing during remarks (later explained as Xi signaling about a lost earpiece translation feed, not a medical issue).
Xi attended both days, met Modi bilaterally, departed on schedule, and returned to Beijing.
South Africa's Ramaphosa separately confirmed resting on medical advice after returning, but didn't link it to the summit.
