If introduced, new U.S. sanctions would complicate efforts to find a peaceful settlement in Ukraine.

Poland is absolutely key here because of its geography and potential.

We are building the strongest army in this part of the world. We are spending the most money on defence proportionally.

I fear that by winter we will witness increasingly severe attacks by Russia on energy infrastructure.

And I can only express hope that these provocations and attacks will not go beyond Ukraine’s borders.

But hope, unfortunately, is not certainty.

We are preparing here in Poland for different scenarios.
