Yemen’s Houthis rejected Saudi accusations that their attacks threaten the holy sites in Mecca, calling the claims “fabrications and lies.”

The group said its operations target Saudi oil facilities and military bases, not religious sites, and claimed there is “no threat from Yemen to the sanctities.”

JD Vance:

We cannot let our Middle Eastern foreign policy be subservient to the state of Israel.

We're going to work with people when we work with them. We're going to disagree when we disagree.

Trump has shown a willingness to actually part ways with Netanyahu when he feels like the interests of the American people are different from the interests of the government of Israel.

I find it a little ironic that you have Democrats criticizing Donald Trump for his relationship with Netanyahu when Donald Trump is the one president of the last 40 years who's been willing to say, you know what, yeah, Netanyahu’s a good partner, but also Netanyahu and I have a different opinion on this, or Netanyahu’s wrong about this, or maybe Netanyahu’s right about this from the perspective of Israel, but the American people need us to go in a different direction.

Israel has been an important partner when it comes to military technology, when it comes to intelligence sharing, but also sometimes the United States doesn't always agree with Israel.

JD Vance:

If you look at the history of Western governments in the post-war era, they open the border. They invite border invasions, but they never actually reverse it. At best, they slow it down.

I think Trump was the first president in my lifetime to actually reverse that flow of illegal immigration. I'm extremely proud of that.

Wanting to keep the U.S. out of foreign entanglements does not mean that you can never use the military in order to accomplish the American people's objectives.

If the U.S. effectively says to the Middle East, "you're on your own," it would necessarily mean a worldwide energy crisis so long as Iran continues shooting at shipping.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz:

There is a commitment from the U.S. and the accompanying countries to disarm Hamas and destroy all the tunnels.

We all understand that this will not happen.

The IDF is prepared, if given the order, to eliminate Hamas and complete the mission.

UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband on Gaza:

All of us condemn in the strongest terms the murder that Hamas did on October the 7th, but nothing can justify what has unfolded in Gaza since then.

And actually, you know, it’s worth saying since the ceasefire, the so-called ceasefire, 1,200 Palestinians have been killed.

You know, that is not much of a ceasefire.

UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband on Gaza:

I met a group of aid workers and a doctor who’d worked in Gaza, and it’s absolutely unspeakable what they were saying.

The delay or denial of medicines, children dying, not being able to get out, waiting for relatively basic medical treatment, just the whole litany of things.

It is unspeakable and appalling.

We see the two-state solution being destroyed by the facts on the ground.

Mouthing platitudes about the two-state solution while seeing it destroyed was just no good.

And therefore all the measures we were about were to make a difference to that.

I wasn’t in favor of us joining the action at the start of the conflict with Iran.

I think Keir Starmer made the right call. I think it was a hard call to make because it’s not what British prime ministers tend to do.

The idea that we’re going to have a two-state solution next month, next year is unlikely.

But we are so heading in the wrong direction. We need a change in direction.

You feel this terrible, absolute terrorism, terrible terrorism on 11th September, 25 years ago, on 11th September.

Can you imagine after such things that America representatives speak with these terrorists? I can’t imagine. That’s why Americans answered, responded strongly.

This is where we are now — in these towers, but not in one place, not in one tower. In a very big country, all our towers are destroyed, houses and schools, everything.

Residents of Piddington, an Oxfordshire village, voted in a symbolic referendum to leave the UK in protest against plans to house up to 1,256 male asylum seekers at a nearby former military base.

Out of 312 votes cast, 285 supported leaving, 26 voted against, and one ballot was spoiled.

Zelensky on Putin:

If Putin stops now, it is not a victory. It’s really not a victory. It’s absolutely the opposite thing for them.

He is afraid that the soldiers will come back, will be angry, and will turn against him.

He has such a precedent. If you remember Wagner.

How do you want to make elections? What elections? How can you make elections with the 9 million people who are abroad? Nine million. Usually, 500,000 people abroad voted.

And what do you do with the people who are living in occupied territories? Will they vote? How will they vote? Who will control their voting? I mean, there are Russian soldiers there. How do you do all these things?
