Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan:

As long as everyone in the region stays within their own borders, does not covet anyone elseโ€™s land, and does not work to destabilize others, there is enough economic prosperity, happiness, and peace for everyone.

That is what we need to pursue.

Barack Obama is urging Democrats to make AI oversight a major political priority, warning the technology could be โ€œdangerousโ€ if governments fail to act quickly.

At a private fundraiser, Obama told House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries to develop a clear AI policy framework if Democrats retake the House, and said 2028 presidential candidates should make AI a central part of their agendas.

Obama said AI could bring major benefits in medicine and clean energy, but warned about safety risks, harm to children and widespread job displacement.

He described himself as neither an AI โ€œaccelerationistโ€ nor a โ€œdoomer.โ€

It just seems to me that you have Northern Ireland and you have Ireland. It would seem to me that one of the naturals of all time is: put them together.

Thatโ€™s only my opinion, and by the way, many people agree.

Iranian hard-liners secretly sabotaged a peace deal with the United States reached in early July by ordering attacks on three commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz on July 7, according to Iranian officials.

President Masoud Pezeshkian and much of Iranโ€™s leadership were reportedly unaware of the operation.

Investigators traced the decision to a faction linked to influential cleric and former intelligence chief Hossein Taeb, who had opposed the deal from the outset.

The July 7 attacks triggered renewed U.S. strikes the following day and a major internal power struggle.

By September, hard-line generals had gained the upper hand, pushing a strategy of escalating attacks on U.S. forces and regional oil infrastructure rather than returning to negotiations.
