The Trump administration did not oppose a UK-led move to sanction Israeli settlers and entities involved in expanding West Bank settlements, according to U.S. officials and Western diplomats.

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham briefed President Trump before the announcement. Trump did not object or ask the UK to change course.

U.S. officials also told Britain they shared concerns about Israel’s West Bank policy, even if they disagreed with the sanctions themselves.

Ukrainian drones reportedly struck an oil terminal in Novorossiysk, Russia, overnight.

AI researcher Jacob Coxon says he quit Anthropic and the industry, saying the labs are racing toward self-improving superintelligence without adequate control.

He warned the systems will soon be able to “hack anything, revolutionize any field overnight, and acquire real power and resources,” and that people inside the labs “earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade.”

Anthropic alignment lead Evan Hubinger says there is a “>10% chance” AI could “kill all humans” within the next decade.

PISA 2025 scores hit record lows across the OECD.

Germany dropped to historic lows (combined ~472), now sitting right at the OECD average — a stark fall for a country that once saw itself as an education powerhouse.

Meanwhile Türkiye improved and now scores above the OECD average (science 494, combined ~476), overtaking Germany in science and sitting comfortably ahead overall.
