Brigadier General Andrii Biletskyi, commander of Ukraine’s 3rd Army Corps, filmed a video from central Sviatohirsk after Vladimir Putin claimed Russian forces had captured the city.

“Take off your clown noses and colourful wigs. Stop making fools of yourselves,” Biletskyi told Russia’s military and political leadership.

He said Ukraine’s 60th Mechanised Brigade remains in “full control of the city”, adding: “In fact, this is our rear area.”

Putin claimed on 1 September that Russia had captured Sviatohirsk and Kozacha Lopan.
