Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir:
The pictures from the prisons are what prevent attacks.
Those are the pictures that a young person in the West Bank or Gaza sees and says, "Wait, wait, waitโฆ"
There used to be hotels, marmalade and chocolate in Israeli prisons.
Today, under Ben Gvir, thereโs hellโand we donโt want to go there.

Segal: Why did you remove the picture of Baruch Goldstein from your living room?
Ben-Gvir: Because I do not think that murdering Arabs is a good thing.
Ben-Gvir: Because I do not think that murdering Arabs is a good thing.
When I understood that this was the message, I removed it.
But wait a second โ I do think that killing terrorists is a great commandment.

A U.S. missile likely missed its target and hit a wedding party in Kuhestak, southern Iran, killing at least four civilians and injuring more than 90, according to U.S. officials and investigations cited by The Washington Post.
The strike involved six Navy-launched missiles aimed at a communications complex; five hit the target, while one appears to have gone off course and struck a nearby home about 440 feet away.
The Pentagon is investigating the incident, while officials say the strike was "not intentional" and that the military is reviewing how the missile missed.

Israelโs religious nationalist movement has gained growing influence within the Israeli military.
Once dominated by a largely secular elite, the IDF has seen a significant rise in religious Zionists among officers, reservists, and senior commanders over the past two decades.
Supporters argue that they bring "stronger Jewish values and commitment to national service," while critics warn that some far-right religious ideas โ including settlement ideology and revenge rhetoric during the Gaza war โ are reshaping military culture and challenging the armyโs traditionally secular character.
This shift has been driven by higher participation in military service, religious pre-military programs, and a long-term effort to increase the movementโs presence within the army.

The Germans say they want to create the largest conventional army in Europe.
Well, if I were president, I would tell them I do not think that is a good idea.
Because if they build the biggest army, they must explain: who are they preparing to go to war against?

French Presidential Candidate Jean-Luc Mรฉlenchon:
So I said how I intended to deal with the debt that we owe to the independent central bank โ the European Central Bank.
The central bank does not have the right to directly buy government debt from a state. They decided this โ it is absurd.
But it gave itself the right, recognized by European courts, to buy French debt securities from private banks.
So the European Central Bank has a large amount of French debt securities. And I propose, since we are all members of the euro system, that this debt be cancelled.
If you owe yourself a million, you can simply say you no longer owe yourself. That is what I propose to do with the French debt held by the European Central Bank.

Without a strong position on the battlefield, a strong Ukrainian position, there will only be ultimatums. But today, diplomacy is possible.

Clash Report
NEW: Exit polls in Saxony-Anhalt put the far-right AfD at 44.5%, more than double the CDUโs 18.5%.
The AfD is estimated at 39 seats, just short of the 42 needed for an absolute majority.
Whether they actually govern depends on whether BSW clears the 5% threshold โ if it doesn't, seats redistribute and an AfD majority becomes possible.
Every other party still refuses to coalition with them.
AfD state leader Ulrich Siegmund says the party wants to govern alone.
A possible anti-AfD coalition of CDU, SPD, Greens, and Linke is mathematically tight and politically awkward โ CDU has ruled out a formal coalition with Die Linke.
Siegmund has campaigned on mass deportations, ending new wind farms, changing the state slogan to "Think German," and reintroducing the national anthem in schools.
The result is being read as a direct protest against Chancellor Merz's federal government and a preview of the 2029 federal election.
Two more state votes follow soon in Berlin and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
The question now is whether the firewall holds or whether the AfD actually takes executive power in a German state for the first time since 1945.

Russia is showcasing new precision-guided munitions for the Su-57E jet export variant ahead of Egypt's El Alamein International Airshow 2026.
The display includes the S-71M "Monokhrom," S-71K "Kovyor," "Banderol" (also called "Dan-T"), and an unidentified small-diameter munition.
The presentation at an Egyptian airshow signals Moscow is actively marketing the Su-57 export package to Middle Eastern and African buyers.
