In particular, the Chrysanthemum Crest is widely recognized as a crest symbolizing Japan, and the installation of a memorial depicting its destruction is utterly unacceptable.

This is an issue concerning the feelings of the Japanese people, and as the government, we have strongly requested the Russian side to halt the installation and remove it.

In 2014, I had refused to ally myself with the National Front. I simply thought that a little more time was needed for certain reasons.
