In Al Jazeera's defense documentary, an ASELSAN engineer says Türkiye’s domestically built ALP-300G radar — part of the SİPER long-range air defense system — outperforms Russia’s S-400 air defence system’s search radar "in several aspects."

Asked whether any foreign components were used, he replied:

This radar was developed entirely inside Türkiye — from the most minute components like electronic chips all the way to the complete system.

Türkiye bought the S-400 in 2017, got kicked out of the F-35 program and hit with US sanctions.

For the first time in decades, NATO allies held submarine-hunting drills off Iceland without U.S. ships or aircraft, as European and Canadian forces took the lead in defending the North Atlantic.
