The U.S. Navy is considering frigate designs from Japan, South Korea and Türkiye as it looks to expand the fleet faster and at lower cost.

Candidates reportedly include Japan’s Mogami-class, South Korea’s Chungnam-class and Türkiye’s Istanbul-class frigates.

Under a possible “Finland model,” the first one or two ships could be built overseas before production shifts to U.S. shipyards.

Egypt may be preparing to buy 24 additional Rafale fighter jets from Dassault Aviation, according to La Tribune. Cairo has reportedly sent France a formal request for proposal, though Dassault declined to comment.

Egypt will have 54 Rafales in service by the end of 2026, following previous orders in 2015 and 2021.

A new deal would increase its fleet to 78 aircraft.

When are the Iranian people going to rise up and fight?

The U.S. military struck two Iranian government tankers Tuesday under a new “tanker for tanker” policy aimed at deterring attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

U.S. officials said roughly 100 Iranian targets were hit, including air defenses, missile launchers, radar systems and drone sites.

Iran retaliated with missiles and drones targeting U.S. forces in the region, but officials said most were intercepted and caused no reported casualties.

A U.S. strike hit a wedding in Kuhestak, Iran, killing four people, including a child, and injuring 53 others, according to Iranian officials.

Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters says U.S. forces carried out airstrikes on military and civilian sites in southern Iran, causing casualties.

It says Iranian forces responded with missile and drone strikes on U.S. bases in the region, claiming heavy damage and significant American casualties.

The headquarters says the attacks will continue until the U.S. “regrets” its actions, warning that any country cooperating with U.S. forces will face “dangerous consequences.”

The IRGC said its forces carried out a combined missile and drone strike on U.S. facilities in Erbil, destroying a maintenance center, technical equipment warehouses, and a surveillance-balloon guidance system.

It also claimed that fuel storage tanks were set on fire and several U.S. personnel were killed.

Russia's Medvedev on Germany:

Police are investigating a suspected sabotage attack on an Amprion power substation in Bergheim, Germany, after a short circuit knocked out several power lines.

The wider electricity supply was not affected, but police say the incident appears to have been deliberate rather than a technical fault.

Investigators are now examining possible links to a recent sabotage attempt in Brandenburg.
