Ukrainian President Zelensky says an assassination attempt on Colonel Ihor Obolensky, commander of the Khartiya Corps, was foiled today.

He said the attacker and an accomplice have been detained and are being investigated by the SBU under acting chief Oleksandr Poklad.

Obolensky is unharmed and continues in command.

Zelensky asked Trump to persuade Elon Musk to allow Starlink to be used for guiding Ukrainian drone strikes against ballistic missile launchers inside Russia.

Trump did not commit to making the request, leaving the proposal’s future uncertain.

Ukraine argues this would help offset shortages of Patriot air-defense interceptors.

Currently, SpaceX restricts Starlink’s use inside Russia, permitting Ukraine to use it only on its own territory, including occupied regions such as Crimea.

The U.S. and its allies have issued a warning that North Korean IT workers are using fake identities, stolen or forged documents, proxies, VPNs, remote desktops, and “laptop farms” to secretly obtain jobs with foreign companies and funnel their earnings back to North Korea’s weapons programs.

They often work in software, web, mobile, and blockchain development while also posing risks of data theft, cryptocurrency theft, and insider attacks.

Governments are urging companies to strengthen identity verification and monitoring, warning that hiring or paying North Korean IT workers may violate sanctions and domestic laws.

He went into the archives & found the scripts - marked up with the military's blue pen.
 
He also found the wall of films that never got made - because those directors & producers refused to submit to censorship & couldn't turn a profit without military access.
 
It didn't need to be called censorship. If the studio wouldn't comply, the film simply wasn't made.
 
The most profitable blockbusters were shaped by this process - eventually extending beyond war films to movies where the military battled aliens with ultra-weapons.
 
Some scripts toward the end began to push back slightly. But the censorship process throughout was systematic & well documented.

There was no way to hide that in Gaza with journalists on ground. That is why Israel killed almost 300 journalists in Gaza & Lebanon.
 
US media barely reported their deaths - and never told the American public that they were barred from Gaza unless embedded with the invading army.
 
Reporting those deaths would have undermined the mainstream narrative entirely.
 
There's also simple racism - a racial & class hierarchy in Western newsrooms that did not consider Palestinian journalists their equals.

The US once believed in freedom of press - even exporting it & working to protect journalists globally. Trump's media rhetoric is unprecedented in that context.
 
But the US is now a war-based economy. Forever wars, one after another, driven by a military-industrial complex now unified with media.
 
The US military is effectively an imperial power - the strongest in the world. Denizens of an empire do not have the same rights as citizens of a democracy.
 
As authoritarianism rises, the connection b/n military power & censorship becomes more obvious. That's happening across the West.

Hamas was framed as the worst terrorists on earth - justifying anything Israel did in response.
 
Palestinians were dehumanized by extension. Israeli officials called them animals, subhuman, promised to turn Gaza into a tent city.
 
These statements constitute incitement to genocide but Western media did not push back. Not once.
 
Israeli victims were shown in full humanity - photos, families, jobs. Palestinians were body counts.
 
Even those counts were undermined - "according to the Hamas-directed Gaza Health Ministry" - casting doubt on Palestinian deaths.
 
Palestinians were locked out of the dialogue entirely. That dehumanization continues to this day.
