Nor did we ask anyone for permission to begin the process of hydrocarbon exploration south of Crete and in the Ionian Sea.

I don't know what Türkiye will eventually do.

What I do know is that we have prepared responses to every possible move Türkiye could make.

There is often journalistic exaggeration—both in Greece and in Türkiye.

I keep seeing analysts with maps, drawing circles to show how far this or that missile can reach. That doesn't help.

Let's stick to reality.

We are condemned to live next to each other. That is not going to change.

I believe our peoples want good relations. We do have differences—and one very major difference, of course—which has remained unresolved for forty years.

But that does not mean we have to live in a state of permanent tension or constant dramatization.

We can talk about a realistic solution regarding issues such as the Exclusive Economic Zone and the continental shelf—we're still at that stage.

But I am never willing to negotiate from a position of weakness.
