The famous phrase "if you bless Israel, God will bless you" is not in the Bible.
 
What is in the Bible is God telling Abraham: "I will bless those who bless you." God is speaking to Abraham - not a modern ethno-nationalist state.
 
The covenant with Abraham was never about supremacy & entitlement. It was about God using Abraham to bless all of humanity.
 
Jesus said God can raise children of Abraham from stones. It is not confined to ethnicity. God is not racist. Faith, obedience & good deeds matter.
 
If Muslims claimed the same thing we would call them fanatics. But when Christians apply the same logic to Jews - it's accepted.

This is the Congress of the world's superpower - which prides itself on separation of church & state, freedom of speech & democracy.
 
Yet a congressman used spiritual intimidation to tell a university president: If you allow students to demonstrate, God will curse you.

Some Christian Zionist organizations have signed pledges not to evangelize in Israel in exchange for being allowed to operate there.
 
Christian Zionists believe restoration of Jews to Palestine will end in a second bigger Holocaust, with Jews converting to Christianity.
 
When Israeli religious leaders are confronted with these beliefs, their response is: we know, but we don't care. They are supporting us.
 
Both are turning a blind eye for now working towards a Jewish state in Palestine. Each side has a very different vision for what comes after.

Even if you believe God has a special plan for Jews, that can't be at the expense of justice, human rights, or the teachings of Jesus.
 
"Love your neighbor as yourself" is as central as "love God with all your heart." Jesus was not about political entitlement for any group.
 
The idea of "chosen people" must be examined. The best expression of belief is not what you demand but how you treat others.
 
Christian Zionism is obsessed with entitlement & what we gain.
It is so far away from the ethics & teachings of Jesus.
