Trump on Turkish President Erdogan:

We are great friends.

The President has done an incredible job.

Trump on Türkiye:

Türkiye has become, under the president, a very powerful country militarily.

People don't know how powerful they actually are. They have great soldiers.

Trump to Erdogan:

We're going to be talking today about trade. We're going to be talking about other things having to do with the military, lots of different things.

Reporter: Mr. President, are you going to sell F-35s to Türkiye, and what about the legal restrictions?

Trump: We're going to make a decision. I would think that many people — I can tell, many people sitting right here — would say, why wouldn't we do that?

We have a better relationship with Türkiye, and Türkiye has been in many ways much more loyal than other countries that we think would be loyal.

And certainly something we will consider — yeah.

Trump to Erdogan:

Some people you get along with. And some people you don't.

Sometimes you get along with the toughest people, like him. And sometimes you don't get along with the weakest, most pathetic people.

But from the day we met, we got along.

Trump on NATO:

I was very disappointed with NATO. And frankly, if it weren't held in Türkiye, where my friend — a very strong leader, very strong person — it's possible that I would not have attended.

Turkish President Erdogan on Türkiye's F-35 jets:

We had received a commitment for five aircraft, and President Trump has also given his word on this matter.

President Trump always stands by his word. I believe a favorable decision will be made regarding the F-35 program.

Reporter: There are concerns about Türkiye's Russian missile defense systems. Do you have those concerns?

Trump: I don't have concerns about anything.

Trump on Türkiye:

I would say the relationship with Türkiye right now is better probably than it's ever been.

Trump:

Türkiye bought planes from the U.S. When you buy a plane from the U.S., if there is engine maintenance, I think we have an obligation to maintain the engines and help them maintain the engines.

Trump on Türkiye:

Türkiye has been a great ally for us.

They could have gotten into the fight on the other side. They are very powerful, but they didn't do that.

Maybe they didn't do that because of me.

Trump:

I am sure Erdogan doesn't want Iran to have a nuclear weapon.

I am sure.

We don't want to sanction friends.

Trump on Türkiye:

Frankly, Türkiye has been more helpful to the U.S. than many other more traditional countries.

Trump on Ukraine War:

Both Putin and Zelensky want to make a deal. It's too bad it took so long.

I think something is going to come out.

Trump on Syria's al-Sharaa:

We have a very good relationship with the new leader of Syria.

He has done an amazing job. I have a very good relationship with him.

Trump on Italy's Meloni:

I think she is a nice person, actually.

Our relationship became a little bad because she refused to help us with Iran.

It soured my relationship with her a little bit, but I like her.

Trump on Keir Starmer:

I guess the Prime Minister of the UK is no longer there, maybe because of Iran.

What he did was very unpopular.
