NEW: The US has warned Japan that delivery of 400 Tomahawk missiles could be delayed by up to two years after US stockpiles were depleted during the Iran war.
Tokyo had planned to receive the missiles by 2028 as part of its China deterrence strategy, but the Pentagon is now prioritising replenishing its own inventories.

Iran says Trumpโs claim about the Strait of Hormuz โreturning to normalโ is false.
Even if ship traffic increases again, Iran says it will still fully control the strait โ including routes, timing, permits, and passage rules.
Iran also says no nuclear commitments were discussed, and claims US officials told them Trumpโs posts are mainly for domestic media and politics.

Iran's FM Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei:
In the Roman mind, Rome was the undisputed center of the world. Yet the Iranians shattered that illusion; when Marcus Julius Philippus (Philip the Arab) marched east against Persia, the campaign did not result in Roman victory โ it ended in a peace established on Sasanian terms: the emperor had to come to terms!

Draft Iran peace deal reportedly includes ending hostilities (including in Lebanon), releasing billions in frozen Iranian funds, easing the U.S. naval presence around Hormuz, and pulling U.S. forces farther from Iran.
Both sides would then get 30 days โ extendable by mutual agreement โ to finalize a nuclear deal, while Iran and Oman negotiate transit and control arrangements for the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran has agreed to a draft deal to stop the fighting and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
The agreement would halt fighting across the region, including in Lebanon, reopen the strait to free commercial traffic, lift the U.S. naval blockade, and release $25 billion in frozen Iranian assets.
Nuclear issues would be negotiated separately within 30 to 60 days.

Trump:
Thank you to our great Secret Service and Law Enforcement for the swift and professional action taken this evening against a gunman near the White House, who had a violent history and possible obsession with our Countryโs most cherished structure.
The gunman is dead after an exchange of gunfire with Secret Service Agents near the White House gates. This event is one month removed from the White House CorrespondentโDinner shooting, and goes to show how important it is, for all future Presidents, to get, what will be, the most safe and secure space of its kind ever built in Washington, D.C. The National Security of our Country demands it!

The U.S. and Iran are close to signing a temporary 60-day deal that would reopen the Strait of Hormuz, ease some sanctions on Iran, and restart negotiations over Iranโs nuclear program.
In return, Iran would clear mines from the strait, allow free shipping, and commit to talks on limiting uranium enrichment and giving up highly enriched nuclear material.
The agreement is meant to prevent a wider regional war and reduce pressure on global oil markets. During the talks, U.S. forces would remain in the region, and sanctions relief would depend on Iran making verifiable concessions.
The draft also includes an understanding to end fighting between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, though Israel has raised concerns about parts of the deal.
Trump and regional mediators hope to announce the agreement Sunday, but officials say negotiations are still fragile and could collapse at the last minute.

Zelensky on Russian missile attack overnight:
It was a heavy strike. 90 missiles of various types. Many of them were ballistic โ 36. And 600 drones.
Unfortunately, not all the ballistic missiles could be shot down. The most hits were in Kyiv, and Kyiv itself was the main target of this Russian attack.
Putin can't even pronounce the word 'hurrah' normally anymore โ he slurs his words, yet he is still defeating residential buildings with his missiles.
Three Russian missiles against a water supply facility. He burned down a market, damaged dozens of residential buildings, and several ordinary schools.
He launched his Oreshnik against Bila Tserkva. Well, he is truly unhinged.

Marco Rubio on possible Iran deal:
Some progress has been made. Significant progress, although not final progress.
I don't want to uh downplay that, but I also want to caveat it by saying we still have some work to do.
Perhaps over the next few hours the world will get some good news at least with regards to the Straits and with regards to a process that can ultimately leave us where the President wants us to be.
The idea that somehow this President is going to agree to a deal that ultimately winds up putting Iran in a stronger position when it comes to nuclear ambitions is absurd. That's just not going to happen.
(on the Strait of Hormuz) They don't own it. It's an international waterway.
What they are doing now is threatening to destroy commercial vessels using an international waterway.
If we allowed that to become normal, we would be setting a dangerous precedent that can be replicated in multiple places around the world.
