I want to remind you what Nigel Farage said about Brexit.

He said it would make us richer. Wrong. It made us poorer.

He said it would reduce migration. Wrong. Migration went through the roof.

He said it would make us more secure. Wrong again. It made us weaker.

He took Britain for a ride, and — unlike the Tories, who at least had to face up to it — he just fled the scene.

And now he'll talk about almost anything other than the consequences of the one policy he actually delivered. Because he's not just a grifter, he is a chancer.

Keir Starmer:

At the next EU summit, I will set a new direction for Britain.

The last government was defined by breaking our relationship with Europe. This Labour government will be defined by rebuilding our relationship with Europe — by putting Britain at the heart of Europe.

Keir Starmer says the government will introduce legislation to nationalise British Steel.

I don't think Britain is ungovernable.

There are around 550,000 migrants and refugees on the coast of Libya who want to come to Europe.

Excuse me, what are we supposed to do? Suddenly say: “You are welcome — come over here so Europe can drown?”

We are not going to allow that.

NEW: The EU reached political agreement today on new targeted sanctions against seven violent Israeli settlers and settler organizations in the occupied West Bank, including asset freezes and EU travel bans under its Global Human Rights Sanctions Regime.

The measures had been blocked for months by Hungary's previous government under Viktor Orbán, but unanimity became possible after the recent change in Budapest.

Israeli FM Gideon Sa'ar called the move "arbitrary" and rejected it.
