The US has been on Iran's throat not since 1979 - since 1953.
 
When Iran controlled its oil, the US & UK staged a coup & reinstalled a corrupt fascist.
 
In 1953, Iran had no nuclear, no ballistic missiles, no influence - and was still subjected to US regime change.
 
Iranians understand the US wants Iran's oil today as it did then.
 
The difference is that the current government is strong enough to stop it - and the people are more resilient, more aware, & the military far more capable.
 
They want to create hegemony for Israel in Netanyahu's own words. Mike Huckabee, US ambassador to Tel Aviv, has also confirmed it.
 
Greater Israel includes territory from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, Syria & Lebanon. They seized parts of Syria & Lebanon.
 
Beyond territorial expansion, the goal is hegemony - countries either become subservient to Israel or get destroyed, fragmented & weakened.

NEW: Israel built a clandestine military outpost in Iraq's western desert just before its air campaign against Iran — with U.S. knowledge — to house special forces and search-and-rescue teams supporting strikes 1,000 miles away.

In early March, an Iraqi shepherd reported unusual helicopter activity, and when Iraqi troops moved to investigate, Israeli airstrikes killed one soldier and wounded two others to keep the base hidden.

Iraq blamed the U.S. in a UN complaint, but Washington says it wasn't involved; the base was never officially discovered.

Outgoing Israeli Air Force chief Tomer Bar had hinted at the operations in a March letter referring to "special missions which could ignite the imagination."

Innocent passage through the Strait of Hormuz is allowed under international law - but only if ships don't threaten coastal states.
 
The Strait has two coastal states: Iran & Oman. The US is 11,000 kilometers away. So American & Israeli ships will not be allowed passage.
 
This is Iran's right under Article 51 of the UN Charter - self-defense against an attack that killed over 3,500 civilians.
 
Iran will use its geography to ensure the US pays for damages. Passage fees are how Iran gets compensated.
 
Ordinary citizens won't be affected - countries that attacked Iran will pay.
 
Oil prices are up 100%. Once the war ends, they'll drop - except a 10% security fee.
 
Iran would rather collect that directly than let British insurers pocket it by declaring a danger zone.

Countries with nuclear weapons don't get attacked by the US. North Korea is the clearest example.
 
So the question is growing in Iran - why not build nuclear weapons after being attacked?
 
It's not illegal internationally. It only becomes illegal under the Non Proliferation Treaty - and Article 10 allows members to exit.
 
Public opinion in Iran is increasingly pushing for it. The religious ruling still holds - but this is a live debate, especially after the attacks Iran has suffered.
