The atmosphere in Britain is very difficult… right now, Britain is one of the weakest governments.

Without a dramatic change in leadership there… they’re not even capable of saying ‘radical Islam.’

But I do draw some encouragement from what I’m seeing in the polls — the strengthening of conservative forces, whether it’s the Conservative Party, Reform UK, or other similar elements.

Greece cannot demand from any country how it will operate on issues that have to do with the procurement of their defense systems.

However, what we consider to be absolutely necessary is to ensure that these systems, for which procurement is made to third countries, will not be utilized against an allied country.

The Emirati model in Washington is trying to emulate the Israeli lobby.
 
The turning point was 2006, when DP World was blocked from taking over US ports after 9/11 backlash. The Emiratis realized they were seen as just another Muslim country. That's when the idea of Emirati exceptionalism was born.
 
From 2006, the Emiratis studied the Israeli model, building networks in Washington, pushing narratives & using financial depth to sway people.
 
Over time they didn't just study Israel, they became closer to it. Both see the same threats: political Islam, civil society & the Arab spring.
 
Both promote authoritarian stability. The Arab Spring was the Arab Winter for both.
 
That ideological alignment - suppressing civil society under the cloak of fighting terrorism & political Islam - culminated in the Abraham Accords.

For MBZ, Palestine was always a fringe issue.
 
WikiLeaks cables showed MBZ speaking very negatively about it. The Abraham Accords were never about peace or Palestine.
 
It was about national interest - access to Israel's tech sector, intelligence networks & technology.
 
In return, giving Israel access to Emirati jurisdictions & proxy territories in Yemen, Somaliland & Sudan.
 
The only ideological component is a common fight against Islamism.
 
On Gaza, the Emiratis were purely pragmatic. They provided aid while enabling the IDF through back-channel deals - offering mercenaries on the ground & proposing to police Gaza alongside the IDF.
 
The message to Washington was simple: "We are the only Arab country that can help you because we have a relationship with Israel. We are exceptional."
 
It was never about the fate of Palestinians. Abu Dhabi has been actively shying away from calling itself a Muslim country.

Obama recalls that Netanyahu made the same case for attacking Iran to him that he later made to Trump.

His view now:

I think my prognosis was accurate.

It may be that Netanyahu has gotten what he wanted. Whether that’s what is ultimately best for the Israeli people, I would question that.

Whether I think it’s what is good for the United States and America, I would question that. I think there’s an ample record of my differences with Mr. Netanyahu.
