We ask the same of all countries for Hungary.

Viktor Orbán played such a five-dimensional chess game, and this was probably one of the reasons for his defeat, among others.

He talked about everything: Ukraine, Russia, Iran, the Iranian Shah, the Iranian Ayatollah, the US presidential election.

Probably, if he had been woken from his sleep, he would have said that he won the US presidential election, not Donald Trump.

Viktor Orbán talked about everything except for the problems affecting the Hungarian people.

Péter Magyar:

The Kremlin has spoken, and Beijing has spoken. I thank them for their respectful acceptance of the decision of the Hungarian electorate, the Hungarian people, and they are also open to pragmatic cooperation, just as Hungary is, because geography is geography.

Iran Threatens Gulf Ports as U.S. Imposes Naval Blockade

Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central HQ Spokesperson Ebrahim Zolfaghari said no port in the Gulf will be safe if Iranian ports were threatened, after U.S. military announced a blockade of Iranian ports starting Monday.

Ukraine carried out a long-range drone strike on the Apatit (PhosAgro) chemical plant in Cherepovets, deep inside Russia (about 800–1,000 km from Ukraine).

The plant is a major fertilizer and chemical producer, with some materials considered potentially dual-use.

Péter Magyar on Russian oil:

Russia stays here, Hungary stays here. We will do everything for diversification, but this does not mean that we will decouple.

We will always get oil as cheaply and safely as possible.

Péter Magyar on Ukraine:

We do not support Ukraine's accelerated accession to the EU.

On one hand, we are talking about a country at war; it is absolutely absurd for a country at war to be admitted to the European Union.

Péter Magyar:

If Vladimir Putin calls me, I will pick up the phone. I do not think that will happen.

I will not call him myself, but if we do talk, I can tell him to please stop the killing now, after four years, and end that war, which doesn't make any sense from their point of view either, because tens of thousands of Russians have lost their lives.

I don't think he is going to end the war on my advice. I very much hope that he will be forced to do so regardless.

Péter Magyar:

Ukraine is the victim of this war. Everyone knows that.

No one should tell Ukraine under what conditions it must enter peace or sign a peace treaty.

We cannot ask any country to give up its territory.

If they do, they would be considered traitors.

Trump's deadline is over. The U.S. blockade of Iran begins.

Péter Magyar:

I will not call Trump.

But if he, or anyone from the U.S. administration, reaches out to us, we will be available.

Péter Magyar:

Russia is a security risk — and everyone knows it.

I am not speaking about the Russian people — they are fantastic people — but about the Russian state.

In Hungarian history, we have felt the Russian bear before.

Europe must prepare. Europe must protect and defend itself.

Péter Magyar:

We see that JD Vance stated, when he was here, that they will work with the next Hungarian government in the same way, regardless of whether it is led by Viktor Orbán or the opposition, whom they did not know at the time; I hope we will get to know each other.

China denies reports that it is sending or planning to send weapons to Iran:

We oppose groundless smears or malicious associations without any factual basis.

Trump:

Iran’s Navy is laying at the bottom of the sea, completely obliterated - 158 ships.

What we have not hit are their small number of, what they call, “fast attack ships,” because we did not consider them much of a threat.

Warning: If any of these ships come anywhere close to our BLOCKADE, they will be immediately ELIMINATED, using the same system of kill that we use against the drug dealers on boats at Sea.

Prof. John Mearsheimer on Trump's Hormuz blockade:

It’s not only ineffective — it’s counterproductive.

The idea that Iran will simply throw up its hands and surrender is not a serious argument.

Why did we allow Iranian oil back into global markets? Because we needed it. We removed sanctions because without Iranian oil, the global economy could go off a cliff.

If the Houthis and the Iranians shut down the Red Sea, you won’t just lose Persian Gulf oil — you’ll lose Red Sea trade as well.

That would throttle the world economy. And that’s what could ultimately force the Trump administration to concede.

Paris court convicted French cement giant Lafarge (now part of Holcim) of financing terrorism in Syria and violating EU sanctions.

Between 2013–2014, Lafarge’s Syrian subsidiary paid about €5.6 million to armed groups — including ISIS — to keep its cement plant operating during the Syrian civil war.

The company and eight former executives were found guilty. Former CEO Bruno Lafont received a six-year prison sentence.

Lafarge had already pleaded guilty in the U.S. in 2022 and paid $778 million for providing material support to terrorist groups.
