After 21 hours of negotiations in Pakistan, JD Vance said the U.S. and Iran failed to reach an agreement.

He said the U.S. made its terms clear, but Iran did not accept them.

Esmaeil Baghaei, Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson, said there was no expectation of a deal with the United States, citing “an atmosphere of mistrust” after weeks of war.

“We should not have expected an agreement in just one meeting,” he said, adding that while some common ground was found, “on two, three key topics there were significant differences.”
