American-made Patriot air defense system could not shoot down the Kinzhal missile as it is not capable of intercepting targets at such a speed.

The flight speed of Kinzhal exceeds the limiting regimes of the SAM system set for Kyiv, at the final stage of the flight the missile makes a maneuver and almost vertically approaches the target.
