It's a simple military maneuver; it's relatively safe, but you need a lot of help in the sense that you need ships, you need volume.

NATO could help us, but they so far haven't had the courage to do so.

Spain’s refusal to allow American aircraft stationed in Spain to fly in support of Operation Epic Fury is an insult and an outrage to the alliance.

Mr. President, I think America’s interests would be well-served to move those aircraft from Spain to a country that we can actually rely on in a time of great need. I trust your judgment.

Trump:

We are getting very close to meeting our objectives as we consider winding down our great Military efforts in the Middle East with respect to the Terrorist Regime of Iran.

The Hormuz Strait will have to be guarded and policed, as necessary, by other Nations who use it — The United States does not!

If asked, we will help these Countries in their Hormuz efforts, but it shouldn’t be necessary once Iran’s threat is eradicated.

NEW: Trump is considering several limited military options that could involve sending U.S. troops into Iran, but no decision has been made.

The ideas being discussed include securing shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz, seizing key oil facilities to pressure Iran economically, or recovering enriched uranium.

Any operation would likely be relatively small—ranging from hundreds to a few thousand troops—rather than a large-scale invasion like Iraq or Afghanistan.
