A U.S. THAAD missile defense system in the UAE was also hit, while Hezbollah claimed it targeted a military satellite communications site in Israel.

Experts say this highlights a weakness in Israel’s air-defense network: systems like Iron Dome, Patriot, and Arrow are designed to intercept certain threats but cannot fully protect themselves from other types of attacks, such as drones or direct strikes on their radars and launchers.

Because these systems are expensive and exposed, damaging them could significantly weaken Israel’s defenses.
