U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright deleted a post on X that claimed the U.S. Navy had escorted an oil tanker through the Strait of Hormuz to keep global oil flowing.

Shortly after, a U.S. official told Reuters that the U.S. military has not escorted any ships through the vital oil route.

It is also unclear why the post was made in the first place.

Saudi Arabia is negotiating to purchase Ukrainian interceptor drones and electronic-warfare systems to counter drone threats similar to Iran’s Shahed drones.

The deal, potentially worth millions, hasn’t been finalized.

Gulf countries are studying Ukraine’s counter-drone methods, which include interceptor drones and signal-jamming technology.

Iran’s IRGC says its air defenses have shot down 104 drones (including Hermes, Heron, Orbiter, and MQ-9) so far.
