Israel spent years building an extensive intelligence network in Tehran before assassinating Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.

Intelligence services hacked traffic cameras, infiltrated mobile networks, tracked security teams, and used advanced data analysis to map “patterns of life” around Khamenei and senior officials. US intelligence contributed additional sources.

After confirming Khamenei would attend a meeting at his compound, coordinated strikes were launched. Cyber operations disrupted Iranian communications and air defences, and precision missiles hit the site in a daytime attack.

The operation was described as the result of decades of intelligence focus on Iran.

Europe fears the U.S. war with Iran could hurt Ukraine both politically and militarily.

If the conflict drags on, Washington may shift its focus away from pushing Russia toward peace and prioritize the Middle East.

At the same time, heavy U.S. missile use against Iran could deplete stockpiles — especially Patriot interceptors that Ukraine relies on to defend against Russian attacks — leaving fewer weapons available for Kyiv.

While peace talks with Russia are still planned, some European officials worry Trump may lose interest.

Meanwhile, Iran is trying to impose costs by targeting energy infrastructure in the Gulf. We will have to see how long this cost-imposition strategy can continue and what the consequences will be.

It does not appear that Iran will receive the response it expects.

Iran may hope that by striking these targets, others will pressure the United States to stop the war — but that does not seem likely.

It is also unclear how much capacity Iran still has.

However, if Iran uses its missiles and drones extensively, it could seriously trouble Israel.
