A senior UAE official described the current conflict as a “historic moment filled with a lot of challenges,” admitting the region had “failed” to ensure stability.

Anwar Gargash, adviser to the UAE President, said the UAE was working “very hard” to avert war but does not “totally understand” how it will unfold.

He condemned Iran’s “enlargement of this conflict” while urging a return to a “political process” and negotiations.

The UAE, he added, was not given prior notice of military action but had expected escalation following US-Iran talks.

Iran’s IRGC earlier claimed its missile strike destroyed the U.S. AN/FPS-132 (FP-132) early-warning radar in Qatar, describing it as a $1.1 billion system with up to 5,000 km detection range used to track Iranian ballistic missiles.

The radar is part of the U.S. missile defense network at or near Al Udeid Air Base and is designed to detect and track long-range missile launches.
