AI Summit in India: India's Galgotias University professor presented a robotic dog called “Orion,” describing it on state TV as having been “developed by the Centre of Excellence at Galgotias University.”

Social media users quickly identified the robot as the Chinese-made Unitree Go2, a commercially available model sold worldwide.

The clip went viral, triggering backlash over alleged misrepresentation at an event promoting India’s indigenous AI innovation.

Government officials now asked the university to vacate its stall.

The university later apologized, said the representative was “ill-informed,” and clarified the robot was only a purchased learning tool with “no intent to mislead.”

Marco Rubio is holding quiet talks with Raul Castro’s grandson as the Trump administration increases pressure on Cuba.

The discussions bypass Cuba’s formal government, signaling Washington views Raul Castro as the island’s real power center.

Rubio’s team sees the younger Castro as part of a pragmatic generation potentially open to reshaping Cuba’s future — including improved ties with the U.S.

"They're looking for the next Delcy in Cuba," a source familiar with the talks said.

France unveiled a 2026–2035 energy plan doubling down on nuclear power to cut fossil fuel imports and boost “sovereignty”.

The government plans to expand output from its 57 existing reactors, build six new nuclear plants, and grow offshore wind while scaling back reliance on solar and onshore wind.

Fossil fuels still make up 60% of France’s energy use and cost €64 billion in imports in 2024.

The goal: cut that to 40% by 2030 and phase out fossil fuels by 2050.

Germany’s economy is still stagnating.

The Chamber of Commerce (DIHK) now expects just 1% GDP growth in 2026, warning it’s not enough to catch up with global competitors.

Business confidence improved slightly but remains weak.

Firms cite weak demand, high labor and energy costs, and policy uncertainty as major risks.

Only 23% plan to increase investment, while 31% plan cuts. Hiring is also cautious.

Cambodia’s PM Hun Manet says Thailand is still occupying Cambodian territory despite a Trump-brokered ceasefire, calling the situation “fragile” and a “violation of our sovereignty.”

In an interview in Washington, Hun Manet said:

We still have Thai forces occupying deep into Cambodian territory in many areas.

This is not an accusation but it’s a statement of the facts on the ground.

NOTE: Thailand denies occupying territory, saying it is maintaining agreed troop positions.

The proposed international stabilization force for Gaza is expanding, with Kosovo and Kazakhstan reportedly ready to join Morocco, Indonesia, Greece, and Albania.

Indonesia is expected to provide the largest contingent — up to 8,000 troops — forming the core of the mission.

Troops would deploy in areas already under Israeli control, behind a security buffer zone.

The force is unlikely to be operational before May, and key regional players like Jordan and Saudi Arabia have not yet agreed to participate.

Senator Graham on UAE-Saudi Arabia:

Saudi Arabia is now moving backward.

They're attacking the United Arab Emirates pretty viciously for being in the Abraham Accords.

There is no good reason for this.

You can have disputes about Sudan and Yemen, but they're basically declaring war.

Germany won’t build its own nuclear weapons, but Chancellor Friedrich Merz wants talks on extending French and British nuclear protection to Germany, similar to the U.S. nuclear umbrella in NATO.

“I don’t want Germany to consider developing its own nuclear weapons,” Merz said.

Instead, Berlin is exploring whether France and the UK could help shield Europe:

“Times have changed now, and I would like us to at least discuss the offer from the French.”

Merz stressed Germany is “at the very beginning” of discussions, saying:

“The only thing that has happened so far is that the German chancellor has said to the French president, ‘Let’s talk about it.’”
