It’s going to be the Global South that decides the next world order.

Finnish President Stubb to Putin:

He wanted to make Ukraine Russian. It became European.

He wanted to prevent the enlargement of NATO. He got Finland and Sweden.

And he wanted to keep our defense expenditure down, and it’s now going up to 5%.

When the war began, Russia acquired 12% of Ukrainian territory. That was 12 years ago. Since then, 8%. In the past two years, 1%.

In December, Ukraine was able to kill 34,000 Russian soldiers. They were not able to recruit them back.

Just keep on what you’re doing, and at the end of the day you will prevail and win this war.

Senator Graham:

Putin’s invaded, what, three times? Nothing Europe has done in the past has deterred Putin, and quite frankly, nothing we did in the past deterred Putin.

How many people believe he wants to take all of Ukraine? (Raises his hand)

He wants it all. He’s not going to stop until somebody stops him.

Senator Graham:

Without China, Putin would be out of business, without Brazil and without India, he would be out of business, so we got a bill.

Eighty-five co-sponsors—you know how hard it is to get 85 Senators to agree on anything?

Putin’s done more to bring us together in the Senate than anybody in America.

I’d give him the NATO Man of the Year award if he would come and get it.

Senator Graham:

I want to give Tomahawks to Ukraine. I want the U.S. to supply Tomahawks to reach out and hurt the infrastructure that Putin counts on to build the drones and all the other stuff.

I want to change the military equation.

Senator Graham:

I want to pass our bill, and I’ll give Trump the tools to go to these major countries and say "you’re propping up a killing machine."

You want to have a normal relationship with the United States? Act normal.

Senator Graham:

If we sell out Ukraine, there goes Taiwan.

Senator Graham:

Our bill allows Trump to put tariffs on any country buying Russian energy or doing business with Russia that’s not helping Ukraine—zero to 500, go back down—and it expires after three years.

Trump on Iraq:

We are looking at a Prime Minister for Iraq.

We have some ideas on it.

In the end, everybody needs us.

Reporter: Why are you sending a second aircraft carrier to the Middle East?

Trump: We will need it if we don't make a deal.

If we have a deal, we could cut it short.

It will be leaving very soon, we have one out there.

Trump on Ukraine:

Russia wants to make a deal and Zelensky is going to have to get moving.

Otherwise he is going to miss a great opportunity, he has to move.

Trump on Greenland:

I think Greenland is gonna want us.

We are negotiating for Greenland right now.

Senator Graham to European Parliament:

You failed miserably.

We may put a tariff on China to the European Parliament. Will you put a tariff on China?

Would you put a 25 tariff on China for buying Russia’s oil and gas, or sanctions?

Trump on Iran:

I think the negotiations with Iran will be successful.

If they are not, it is going to be a very bad day for Iran.

Reporter: Do you believe Netanyahu will receive a pardon?

Trump: Yes.

German Chancellor Merz:

I am not as pessimistic as Emmanuel Macron. I do not see the European Union at the edge of a cliff.

We have an economy ten times the size of Russia’s — but we are not ten times as strong militarily or industrially.

We could be. And we must become.

German Chancellor Merz:

If we only talk about bureaucracy, then reintroducing full conscription now would indeed create a bureaucratic monster, because we simply do not have the structures for it anymore.

We are talking about around 800,000 young people per year, half of them men — and at the moment only men can be required to perform military service.

That is why we have initially said: voluntary service. Much of this can now be organized digitally. And if we see that this is not sufficient, then we will introduce mandatory elements.

But we need barracks, we need instructors, we need structures — and the Bundeswehr no longer has all of that. These are now being rebuilt.

We will review this regularly. The first review will take place in the middle of next year. If it is not sufficient, there will be an obligation.

German Chancellor Merz:

America has 300 million people. The world has 8 billion.

7.7 billion people do not live in America.

We have to exploit this great potential.

German Chancellor Merz:

Currently the constitution only allows compulsory military service for men.

In the CDU, we have decided that we want a compulsory year of service for everyone.

That would not only be military service, but also civilian service — in aid organizations, churches, social associations.

I would like to see that. But for that, we would need to amend the constitution.

German Chancellor Merz:

Do we work too little? There are millions of people in this country who work very, very hard.

But when looking at our overall economic output as a country, there is room for improvement.

Many people are retiring. Too few young people are entering the workforce.
