Denmark's Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen:

We will not enter negotiations based on giving up fundamental principles.

That will never happen.

We live in 2026.

Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa liberated lands under YPG/SDF occupation after quiet diplomacy convinced Washington not to intervene.

In early January meetings in Damascus, Paris, and Iraq, Syrian officials signaled plans to move against the YPG/SDF.

The U.S., long the YPG/SDF’s backer, did not object and later made clear it now preferred working with the Syrian state.

U.S. envoy Tom Barrack later told YPG/SDF leaders that American interests lay with Sharaa, not the SDF.

Rutte to Trump:

There’s one thing I heard you say yesterday and today — you were not absolutely sure that the Europeans would come to the rescue of the US if it were attacked.

Let me tell you — they will. And they did in Afghanistan, as you know. For every two Americans who paid the ultimate price, there was one soldier from another NATO country who did not come back to his family.

So you can be assured absolutely: if ever the US is under attack, your allies will be with you. Absolutely. There’s an absolute guarantee. I really want to tell you this because it is important.

And under your leadership, this alliance is stronger than ever.

Reporter: The Danish Foreign Minister rejected your call to negotiate on Greenland.

Trump: I didn’t call him.

Reporter: He essentially said that this is not something that they are willing to discuss.

Trump: Well, they didn’t tell me that. So when they tell me — ’cause I don’t like getting it secondhand — if he wants to tell me, he’ll tell me that to my face.

Reporter: And when will you be discussing this?

Trump: I have no idea... I’ll be discussing it with this man right here, he is frankly more important.

Reporter: When you said you would remember if Denmark did not agree to a deal on Greenland, what did you mean? What are the consequences?

Trump: You’ll have to figure that out for yourself. You’re a smart guy.

Reporter: Do you see a price for Greenland that’s reasonable?

Trump: I could see that. But there’s a bigger price, and that’s the price of safety and security...

Reporter: Is it reassuring to hear the NATO Secretary General say NATO will defend the United States if it comes under attack?

Trump: Well, I hope that that’s true. I mean, he’s a good man.

He’s never lied to me before. You know, we’ve had a good relationship, and he made that statement. That’s nice.

Trump on Greenland:

I want Greenland for security. I don’t want it for anything else. We have so much rare earth, we don’t know what to do with it. We don’t need it for anything else.

And in terms of Greenland, you know, you have to go 25 feet down through ice to get it. It’s not something that a lot of people are going to do or want to do. No, this is security we’re talking about.

BREAKING: Trump on Greenland:

We have formed the framework of a future deal with respect to Greenland and, in fact, the entire Arctic Region. This solution, if consummated, will be a great one for the United States of America, and all NATO Nations.

I will not be imposing the Tariffs that were scheduled to go into effect on February 1st. Additional discussions are being held concerning The Golden Dome as it pertains to Greenland.

Putin does math:

Regarding Greenland… well, this doesn’t concern us at all—what happens with Greenland.

But we do have experience in resolving similar issues with the United States in the 19th century, I believe in 1867. As we know, Russia sold Alaska, and the United States bought it from us.

If my memory serves me correctly, the area of Alaska is around 1,717,000 square kilometers—perhaps a bit more. And the United States bought Alaska from us for 7.2 million US dollars.

In today’s prices, taking inflation into account over all these decades, that amount would be about 158 million dollars.

The area of Greenland is somewhat larger—around 2,166,000 square kilometers, also perhaps a bit more. That’s a difference of roughly 450,000 square kilometers.

So if you compare this with the cost of the United States’ purchase of Alaska, then the price of Greenland would be somewhere around 200 to 250 million dollars.

Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) has charged Rostyslav Shurma, a former deputy chief of staff to Zelensky, with embezzlement and money laundering involving $3.3 million.

NABU says Shurma, his brother Oleh, and seven others fraudulently received state payments for solar power plants in occupied parts of Zaporizhzhia Oblast that were no longer producing electricity. The funds were allegedly obtained through Ukraine’s controversial “green tariff” renewable energy program.

Shurma served in the Presidential Office from 2021 to 2024. Both he and his brother are believed to be living abroad.
