With its policy of prioritising negotiation, the Syrian government has resolved an issue that could have been prone to provocation with minimal damage.

Racism and ethnic chauvinism are diseases that our ancient culture, civilisation and religious values reject. None of these exist in our book.

All the states we have established throughout history have been built on the rejection of racism.

The Seljuk Empire, the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Türkiye have all been shaped and gained their identity around this vision.

Türkiye is not opposed to any sect or ethnic identity.

Türkiye is not involved in cheap calculations, such as gaining power and profit through conflicts.

On the contrary, we are a country that advocates for issues that have caused great suffering to the peoples of the region to be resolved on the basis of brotherhood and common sense.

I ask with a heavy heart: Aren't those deceived children, forced to hold weapons too big for them and made to wear suicide vests, the future of both our Kurdish brothers and sisters and Syria?

How many more children must die, how many more mothers must feel the fire of their child, who has just begun their life, falling into the earth, before we understand that nothing can be achieved through terror, violence, weapons, and oppression?

Turkish President Erdogan:

The Kurd is our brother, the Arab is our brother, the Turkmen is our brother; Sunni, Shia, Alawite, are they not our dear ones, our heart, our soul, our dear brothers?

So why this hatred, this anger, this greed, this resentment and passion, when we can resolve our issues on the basis of brotherhood and neighbourliness?

While the Republic of Türkiye stands here, while this state, praise be to God, stands tall, I ask:

Why are other patrons, other friends, comrades, and partners being sought? Why is help being sought from those whose hands are stained with Muslim blood?

Turkish President Erdogan:

We no longer wish to see war, conflict and tension anywhere in our region, particularly in Syria.

We no longer want our underground and surface resources to flow into the pockets of warlords.

While our brothers and sisters struggle with hunger, scarcity and poverty, we do not want to see the materialistic mindset, which values a drop of oil more than flowing human blood, gain any further ground.

Turkish President Erdogan:

They call it history repeating itself—but if lessons were truly learned, would it ever repeat?

Yes, to ensure the tragedies of a century ago are never repeated, we will not fall into the traps set before us, nor will we give in to provocations.

NOW: Syrian Army:

A full curfew has been imposed in Al-Shaddadi and surrounding areas.

The SDF released ISIS detainees from Al-Shaddadi prison.

The Syrian Arab Army is moving in to secure the prison and the city and launch search operations for escaped ISIS members.

Netanyahu:
