NEW: The White House announced the creation of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), a transitional civilian body intended to oversee governance and reconstruction efforts in Gaza.

The NCAG will be led by Dr. Ali Sha’ath and is tasked with restoring public services and managing day-to-day administration during the transition. The initiative is part of Phase Two of a broader U.S.-backed framework announced by President Trump.

U.S. officials also announced the formation of supporting executive and advisory bodies. Members named to senior leadership and oversight roles include Marco Rubio, Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, Tony Blair, Marc Rowan, Ajay Banga, Robert Gabriel, Nickolay Mladenov, Hakan Fidan, Reem Al-Hashimy, Ali Al-Thawadi, Hassan Rashad, Yakir Gabay, and Sigrid Kaag. Additional appointments are expected in the coming weeks.

The European Commission is exploring a way for Ukraine to join the EU quickly with limited rights, as part of a potential peace deal with Russia.

Under the idea, Ukraine would become an EU member early on but gain full voting and membership rights only gradually, as it meets EU legal and economic standards.

The proposal aims to give Ukrainians a credible post-war security and stability signal without abandoning the EU’s accession rules.

The plan is still at an early stage and would need approval from all EU governments and national parliaments.

Denmark’s Arctic commander says the military focus in Greenland is on Russia, not the United States, despite recent U.S. comments.

Major General Soren Andersen said Denmark sees no threat from a NATO ally and is preparing instead for increased Russian activity in the Arctic.

Andersen said no Russian or Chinese ships are currently near Greenland, but warned Russian presence is expected to grow.
