Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan:

We are against a military intervention targeting Iran.

Iran needs to resolve its internal problems on its own.

Iran also needs to resolve its problems with the countries in the region.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Iran:

What is being confused here is this: people’s frustrations over the economic and other hardships they face are being portrayed as if they were an ideological uprising against the regime.

When you look closely, there is actually no situation here that would whet the appetite of some Iran-hostile countries abroad.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Greece:

In Greek domestic politics, the perception of Türkiye as a threat has always played a driving role in politics.

Whenever someone wants to take an initiative regarding Türkiye, they inevitably have to pay a political price.

In Greece, a political leader is forced to choose between resolving problems with Türkiye and bringing peace to the region, or risking their own political career.

This situation needs to come to an end.

When problems are not resolved through dialogue, unfortunately I see the use of force as also being an option on behalf of the Syrian government.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan:

We are a country that recognized Israel many years ago. So why are we now cutting relations with Israel, cutting trade? We have told them this repeatedly. Most recently, because of the genocide they launched after October 7. That is why we have brought relations to this point.

When Israel’s pressure and oppression against the Palestinians stop, when everything returns to normal life, there would be no problem for Türkiye in seeking normalization in its relations.

Even if killings through bombs dropped from aircraft or by sniper fire may have stopped for now, we still see on our screens every day children, women, and the elderly dying because sufficient humanitarian aid is not being allowed in: from cold, hunger, lack of medicine, and lack of treatment.

As long as this continues, it is not possible—not just for us, but for many countries—to normalize relations with Israel.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan:

Apart from the Greek Prime Minister, do you see any other European prime minister going to Tel Aviv and posing for photos? You don’t—no one is going.

European leaders come to power through elections, and they know that being photographed with Netanyahu these days is not something that is viewed positively.

Can Netanyahu himself travel anywhere other than the United States? He can’t. Maybe he might come to Greece—I don’t know.

A conflict or an attempt to seize the territory of a state that is a NATO member by another NATO member — especially if it is the United States — would be the end of the world as we know.

It'll be a catastrophe.

Some terrorists died due to heavy drug use. Organizers distributed industrial drugs to intensify violence, and in some cases leaders killed their own members with close-range shots to fabricate deaths and incite public emotions.

NEW: Trump administration officials are considering using private military contractors instead of U.S. troops to protect oil and energy infrastructure in Venezuela.

The goal is to reassure oil companies that their assets can be secured long term without a large U.S. military presence.

Security firms with regional experience—potentially including groups linked to Trump allies—are already positioning themselves.

Arab governments believe tensions between the US and Iran have eased after intense diplomacy urged Trump to avoid military action. Regional states warned a strike could destabilise the Gulf and raise global energy prices.

US–Iran communication reportedly reassured Trump that Iran had halted killings of protesters and planned no executions, reducing fears of imminent conflict.

While some US military movements continue and options remain on the table, officials say Washington is giving talks time to develop, at least for now.

French President Macron:

We are in a world where destabilizing powers have awakened; we have seen it in recent years.

The difference is that we see certainties that sometimes lasted for decades being called into question. And Europe is being shaken in some of its certainties.

It has competitors it did not expect to see, and it sometimes has allies we thought were predictable, unshakeable, always by our side, who are starting to cause a lot of doubt...
