Cuba is a free, independent, and sovereign nation. No one dictates what we should do.

Cuba does not attack; it has been attacked by the United States for 66 years, and it does not threaten—it prepares itself, ready to defend the homeland to the last drop of blood.

Yesterday, the leaders of Iran called. They want to negotiate.

I think they’re tired of being beat up by the United States. We may meet with them.

BIG: Trump is threatening to imprison the Chairman of Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell.

Here's his response:

On Friday, the Department of Justice served the Federal Reserve with grand jury subpoenas, threatening a criminal indictment related to my testimony before the Senate Banking Committee last June.

That testimony concerned in part a multi-year project to renovate historic Federal Reserve office buildings.

I have deep respect for the rule of law and for accountability in our democracy. No one, certainly not the chair of the Federal Reserve, is above the law.

But this unprecedented action should be seen in the broader context of the administration’s threats and ongoing pressure.

This new threat is not about my testimony last June or about the renovation of the Federal Reserve buildings. Those are pretexts.

The threat of criminal charges is a consequence of the Federal Reserve setting interest rates based on our best assessment of what will serve the public, rather than following the preferences of the President.

Public service sometimes requires standing firm in the face of threats.

I will continue to do the job the Senate confirmed me to do, with integrity and a commitment to serving the American people.

Trump on Iran:

They’re starting to cross the red line, it looks like, and there seem to be some people killed that aren’t supposed to be killed.

These are violent—if you call them leaders, I don’t know if they’re leaders or just they rule through violence—but we’re looking at it very seriously.

The military is looking at it, and we’re looking at some very strong options. We’ll make a determination.

NEW: Iran has for the first time used military jamming to shut down Starlink satellite internet, extending its nationwide internet blackout beyond domestic networks.

Trump: If they do that, we will hit them at levels that they’ve never been hit before.
