Rahmanullah Lakanwal has been confirmed as the suspect in the shooting of two National Guard members near Farragut West in Washington, D.C.

Authorities say the 29-year-old Afghan national, who arrived in the U.S. in 2021 under a Biden-era evacuation program and was granted asylum earlier this year, approached the guardsmen and opened fire without warning.

The U.S. government has halted all immigration application processing for Afghan nationals.

Bruna Ferreira, the mother of White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt’s nephew, was detained by ICE in Massachusetts and transferred to a facility in Louisiana.

Ferreira, who came to the US from Brazil as a child, was reportedly stopped by agents while leaving to pick up her 11-year-old son.

ICE says she overstayed a 1999 tourist visa and described her as a “criminal illegal alien.”

The White House says Leavitt has had no relationship with Ferreira for years and that the child has always lived full-time with his father, Leavitt’s brother.

A Ukrainian drone operator landed an FPV drone beside a Russian soldier who was pretending to be dead.

After about a minute, the soldier made small movements that revealed he was alive, and the drone then carried out the strike.

Rahmanullah Lakanwal previously worked with multiple U.S. government entities in Afghanistan — including the CIA.

He served as part of a U.S.-aligned partner force in Kandahar, which is why he was brought to the U.S. in 2021 under Operation Allies Welcome after the Afghanistan withdrawal.

Somalia: The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) announced it had dismantled an 11-member terror cell hiding in Mogadishu and the Shabelle area while planning attacks.

NEW: Australia has officially listed Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a state sponsor of terrorism.

The designation makes it a serious criminal offence—punishable by up to 25 years in prison—to support, fund, associate with, or recruit for the IRGC.

At a meeting in Kyiv, U.S. Army Secretary Daniel P. Driscoll warned European diplomats that Russia is now producing missiles faster than it fires them, creating a growing stockpile that could threaten Ukraine — and potentially other European countries.

According to Western officials, Driscoll used the warning to push the Trump administration’s peace plan, which many see as tilted toward Moscow.

With the EEZ agreement re-signed between Lebanon and the Greek Cypriot Administration (GCA), the GCA has once again disregarded the Turkish Cypriots.

Although the agreement lies outside Türkiye’s continental shelf, it concerns the rights of the Turkish Cypriots.

Türkiye, together with the TRNC, will resolutely defend these rights.

We would like to remind that the GCA does not represent the Turkish Cypriots or the whole Island, and therefore has no authority to take such actions.
