Reporter: Have you heard this audio that Bloomberg has of Witkoff coaching the Russians on how to appeal to you?

Trump: That’s a standard thing, you know, because he’s got to sell this to Ukraine. He’s got to sell Ukraine to Russia. That’s what he’s… that’s what a dealmaker does.

Trump on Maduro:

I might talk to him. We’ll see… We’re discussing that with the different staffs. We might talk.

If we can save lives, if we can do things the easy way, that’s fine. And if we have to do it the hard way, that’s fine, too.

The U.S. peace plan for Ukraine was partly based on a Russian document outlining Moscow’s demands, including territorial concessions Ukraine had already rejected.

NEW: Colombian President Petro told CNN that the Trump administration’s pressure on Venezuela is really about gaining access to its vast oil reserves—not about democracy or drug trafficking.

Burhan’s Statement on the War in Sudan

Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan writes in the Wall Street Journal that the war began when Janjaweed militias revolted in Khartoum and attacked the state, stressing it is not an army–democracy clash but a crisis caused by an illegal, externally backed militia.

Burhan says the militias have committed widespread civilian abuses and systematic urban violence, threatening the country’s unity and stability, and warns that a parallel armed group would undermine any civilian transition.

He says any political solution must disband and disarm the militias, with eligible members professionally reintegrated into society, arguing this is the only path for Sudan to achieve stability and a rule-of-law–based democratic course.
