European powers have submitted a revised version of Washington’s Ukraine peace plan that rejects key limits on Kyiv’s military and territorial claims.

The European draft — prepared by Britain, France and Germany — raises the proposed cap on Ukraine’s armed forces from 600,000 to 800,000 “in peacetime” and removes U.S. language implying some regions should be treated as “de facto Russian.”

Instead, it says any territorial negotiations must start from the current Line of Contact.

It is important not to forget the main goal — to stop Russia’s war and to prevent it from igniting again in the future. And for that to happen, peace must be just.

This year alone, Putin has already sent hundreds of thousands of his own people to their deaths to occupy a percentage or a few percentages of Ukrainian territory.

And Russia does this despite already having more internationally recognized territory than any other country in the world.

The nature of this war and Russia’s attempts to prolong it show that, for them, it is not about territory, not about how one neighbor or another behaves — it is about Russia’s “right to war,” about its “right to subjugate” others, about a fundamental lack of security.

Zelensky:

From the first minutes of February 24, Putin has waged this war in a way that shows he does not care how many of his own people he loses or how many of our people he kills.

Zelensky:

Russian commanders not only have the desire to act brutally — they have clear orders allowing them to kill however they wish.

That is why the Russian war is so bloody and takes lives both on the front and in peaceful Ukrainian cities.

That is why Russia not only kills adults but also abducts children and tries to re-educate them so that they themselves will take part in the war when they grow up.

Zelensky’s Chief-of-Staff, Andrii Yermak:

We had a very productive first meeting with the esteemed American delegation.

The second meeting will take place soon today, where we will continue working on joint proposals involving our European partners.
