An AP investigation has uncovered at least 206 deaths of Ukrainian POWs in Russian captivity. According to a UN report, 95% of released Ukrainian POWs had endured "systematic" torture.

Ukrainian forensic experts determined that the causes of death ranged from heart failure and diseases (tuberculosis, pneumonia) to infections, strangulation, and injuries.
