Joint statement on Syria and Its neighbors

Officials from Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Türkiye met in Amman to discuss regional security, counterterrorism, border control, and developments in Syria. They affirmed:

- Support for Syria’s security, stability, sovereignty, and reconstruction.

- Condemnation of any attempts to undermine Syria’s security and support for its government in maintaining order.

- Rejection of Israeli aggression against Syria and calls for international action to stop violations.

- Endorsement of the Syrian National Dialogue Conference outcomes and a constitutional declaration.

- Commitment to fighting terrorism, including launching a joint operations center to combat ISIS.

- Cooperation against drug and arms smuggling and organized crime.

- Support for Syria’s reconstruction and mobilization of international aid.

- Call for lifting sanctions on Syria to aid recovery.

- Strengthening economic, trade, and infrastructure cooperation.

- Working with international partners to enable the safe return of Syrian refugees while ensuring continued support for host countries.

- A follow-up meeting in Türkiye in the coming months.
