“This will inevitably be a huge setback for Ukraine—there’s no way to deny that,” said Neil Barnett, CEO of London-based intelligence consultancy Istok Associates.

“The British will try to fill the gap. We have our listening posts at the Akrotiri Air Base and Rivet Joint surveillance flights in the region. But obviously, we don’t have all the capabilities the Americans do, and some things just can’t be replaced.”
