U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson urged the House Foreign Affairs Committee to investigate former Biden official Brett McGurk, citing his policy failures in the Middle East.

“It is hard to understate the damage that Brett McGurk has had on U.S. national security,” Wilson wrote, calling for McGurk to testify before Congress.

McGurk, who left the White House last month, served as National Security Coordinator for the Middle East under Biden.

His tenure spans multiple administrations, from the Bush-era Iraq occupation to Obama’s anti-ISIS coalition and later Trump, until he resigned in 2018 over Syria policy.

Wilson accused McGurk of undermining Trump’s Iran strategy and backing a diplomatic approach that emboldened Tehran.

“Congress must investigate McGurk’s failed policy ideas to ensure such failures never happen again,” Wilson emphasized.

China infiltrates Taiwan's armed forces

The number of espionage prosecutions in Taiwan has quadrupled in the past four years, according to the island's National Security Bureau.

Two-thirds of the last year's accused spies were military. China is recruiting younger soldiers online and using loan networks. Payments of $3,000 to $6,000 are offered for military intelligence or surrender videos.

Taiwan's defence ministry says its anti-spy education is working, but Chinese intelligence has made 1,700+ online recruitment attempts in 2.5 years.

Kao An-kuo (80) was indicted in January for allegedly forming a group to aid China in a possible invasion.

Prosecutors accuse him of using drones to monitor military exercises, reporting training results to China and trying to recruit collaborators.
