New details of Israel's assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh during his visit to Tehran.

Mossad decided Tehran as the location, ruling out Moscow due to concerns over Russia’s reaction and Turkey due to NATO implications.

Mossad identified the neighborhood Haniyeh frequented, including an IRGC-protected guesthouse he often used.

An explosive device was planted under Haniyeh’s bed before his arrival, tied to his visit for the Iranian president’s inauguration.

On the night of the assassination, complications arose when Haniyeh left his room due to a malfunctioning air conditioning unit. The issue was fixed, and he returned to sleep.

Around 1:30 AM, the explosive detonated, killing Haniyeh instantly. IRGC responders pronounced him dead on the scene.

Haniyeh’s deputy, Khalil al-Hayya, was reportedly overwhelmed upon witnessing the scene.

Last night, a suicide attack was organised against police forces in Bandar Lenge city of Hormuzgan province in southern Iran. The police intelligence commander was killed in the attack. Ansar Al-Furqan, a Sunni Baluch armed group active in the Baluchistan region of Iran, claimed responsibility for the incident.

Hackers targeted around ten official websites in Italy on Saturday, including the websites of the Foreign Ministry and Milan’s two airports, putting them out of action temporarily, the country’s cybersecurity agency said.

The pro-Russian hacker group Noname057(16) claimed the cyberattack on Telegram, saying Italy’s “Russophobes get a well-deserved cyber response.”

A spokesperson for Italy’s cybersecurity agency said it was plausible that the so-called “Distributed Denial of Service” (DDoS) attack could be linked to the pro-Russian group.

NEW: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev express disappointment over Russia’s initial claims that the plane crash was caused by a gas cylinder explosion:

President Aliyev outlined Azerbaijan’s demands to Russia, officially conveyed on December 27:

1. An official apology from Russia to Azerbaijan.
2. Admission of guilt.
3. Accountability and prosecution of those responsible.
4. Compensation to the Azerbaijani state, as well as the passengers and crew affected.

A barrel bomb plant was found in a mountainous area north of Damascus, leftover from the Assad regime.

There is no doubt that the change that occurred in Syria will lead to certain adjustments regarding the Russian military presence in Syria.
