Could Houthis be next?

The fall of Bashar al-Assad in December left many Yemenis reflecting on their country’s future.
Some believe the Iran-backed Houthis, controlling much of northern and western Yemen, could be the region’s next surprise.
Opinions are divided.
Saleh noted, “Some of my friends celebrated Assad’s fall, while others were saddened. We’re deeply divided.”
Abdulrahman Ali from Sanaa called Assad’s defeat a “massive loss,” while anti-Houthi Yemenis view it as a victory for freedom.
Faisal Mohammed stated, “The Assads’ 54-year rule has ended; the Houthis will face the same fate.”
Analyst Abdulsalam Mohammed believes the defeat of the “axis of resistance” in Syria and Lebanon may signal the Houthis’ downfall in Yemen.
