Clashes continued between the fighters of local Arab tribes and PKK/YPG in Deir ez-Zor throughout the night.

Deir ez-Zor, a predominantly Arab region in eastern Syria, has become a hotspot for conflict in recent years. The PKK/YPG, backed by U.S. forces under the pretext of combating ISIS, took control of the region, sparking tensions.

Many local Arab tribes view the PKK/YPG’s presence as a form of foreign-imposed domination, this is why they are fighting against PKK/YPG.

Israeli tanks have advanced beyond the buffer zone and are stationed near the town of Qatana in southern Syria, Lebanese TV channel Al Mayadeen reports.

Qatana is located 21 km from the Syrian capital Damascus.
