IDF also issued a warning for residents not to move in their vehicles from the northern area to the southern area of the Litani River.

Qatar and UAE express concern for Lebanon

Qatar and the United Arab Emirates lent their support to Lebanon after Israeli ground forces entered southern Lebanon overnight.

“Aggression on Lebanon will inflict the worst,” Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, the Qatari minister of state in the Foreign Ministry, wrote in a tweet early Tuesday. “Standing with the brotherly people of Lebanon is not just a moral duty, but an imperative necessity,” he added.

The IDF is conducting limited and targeted raids along Israel's northern border in response to the threat posed by Hezbollah to civilians in the north of the country.

IDF spokesman claimed that Hezbollah planned to use border villages as bases for a ground invasion of Israel similar to the October 7.

Ex-Iranian president Ahmedinejad claims Mossad infiltrated Iranian intelligence

Former Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmedinejad alleged that Mossad had extensively infiltrated the Iranian intelligence services in a Monday interview with CNN in Turkey.

The former president said that Iranian intelligence had set up a special unit to combat Mossad activities, adding that the head of the secret unit was a Mossad agent and that 20 Israeli agents were working with him.

Rockets launched by Hezbollah struck Kafr Qasim, near Tel Aviv.

In Kafr Kila, Odeisseh, Khiyam and Ras Naqura there have been exchanges of fire and clashes between the Israeli army and Hezbollah.

UN peacekeeping force says Israel notified it of planned Lebanon incursions

The UN peacekeeping force said on Tuesday the Israeli army had notified it of its intention to undertake limited ground incursions into Lebanon.

UNIFIL said in a statement that despite the developments in Lebanon, peacekeepers remained in position. It urged all actors to step back from escalatory acts.

"Any crossing into Lebanon is in violation of Lebanese sovereignty and territorial integrity, and a violation of [UN Security Council] resolution 1701," UNIFIL said.

Israel has assigned soldiers and commanders who fought in Gaza to Lebanon.

Col. Elad Tsuri, who last night led troops in the operation against Lebanon, commanded a brigade that captured the southern parts of Gaza City in November 2023.
