— Samantha Power, the head of the US Agency for International Development, recently visited Armenia and highlighted the country's economic growth, citing a 30 percent increase since 2018 and an 87 percent rise in average salaries.

— However, she did not elaborate on the methodology behind these figures.

— Armenia has managed to increase its trade volume by circumventing Western sanctions imposed on Russia due to the Ukraine war.

— How does it accomplish this? By leveraging its membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), which includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia.

— The EEU allows for unrestricted trade among member states, enabling Armenia to facilitate Russian imports despite sanctions.

— Additionally, Armenia utilizes its Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the European Union to assist Russia in bypassing sanctions.

— Countries under US sanctions, such as Russia and Iran, use Armenia as a conduit to circumvent these restrictions.

— The pressing question is: why does the US, which expects Western countries to adhere to sanctions, seemingly overlook Armenia's role in helping Russia circumvent them?
