JASSMs for Ukrainian F-16s?

Ukraine will receive F-16 fighter jets with missiles with a range of 300-500 km, Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhii Naiev says.

“In further military assistance packages, Ukraine is expecting F-16s and missiles with a range of hitting targets of 300-500 kilometers, which will allow the Ukrainian defense forces to achieve even greater success on the battlefield.”

The specific modification of the missiles is not named, but only the high-precision cruise missile AGM-158 JASSM, which has a similar flight range in its early modifications, fits the described parameters.

AGM-158 JASSM cruise missiles have a 450 kg penetrating warhead and weight and size characteristics similar to the Strom Shadow/SCALP-EG missiles.

Depending on the modification, these missiles are capable of covering a distance from 370-500 km (AGM-158A JASSM) to 1300 km (AGM-158B JASSM-ER).

It is most likely that if these missiles are supplied to Ukraine, they will be given earlier and more numerous modifications of the AGM-158A JASSM.
