Ukrainian media claims Ukrainian Army used the FrankenSAM hybrid air defense system for the first time in combat conditions last night.

FrankenSAM program combines advanced, Western-caliber, surface-to-air missiles with refitted Soviet-era launchers or radars that Ukrainian forces already have on hand.

There are three variants of these improvised air defenses:

1- Pairing Soviet Buk launchers and American Sea Sparrow missiles.

2- Marrying Soviet-era radars and American Sidewinder missiles.

3- An unknown air defense system with missiles and elements from Patriot.

In addition to the KN-23 ballistic missiles, North Korea may supply Russia with the KN-25 600mm ultra-long-range MLRS, head of the South Korean Ministry of Defense, Shin Won-sik, said.
