Germany will not supply Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine in the near future. Only Chancellor Olaf Scholz opposes the deliveries.

Scholz was asked last week why France and the UK are supplying cruise missiles while Germany continues to refuse.

Scholz replied that both countries "can do what we are not allowed to do"

Ukrposhta, Ukraine's national postal operator, has issued a new stamp collection titled "Weapons of Victory," featuring Western-provided Challenger 2 and Leopard 2 tanks, the Patriot SAM system, the Caesar self-propelled howitzer, and the M2 Bradley fighting vehicle.

Interestingly, the stamp collection also includes the flag of Israel, a nation that has not supplied any weapons to Ukraine.

Türkiye is preparing to host the third international gathering of national security advisers working to build support for a peace summit Ukraine wants to hold later this year.

The meeting is tentatively scheduled for later this month in Istanbul.

It follows similar gatherings in Denmark in June and in Saudi Arabia in August. Participants will discuss ideas for reaching a lasting peace in Ukraine.

A limited number of officials are expected to participate in the meeting, including US officials, if the meeting comes together.

Russia is not invited and has denounced the previous meetings as illegitimate.

On the agenda is Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s peace plan and the Ukrainian president’s efforts to hold a global summit on the proposals later this year.

Zelenskiy’s 10-point blueprint calls for Russian troops to withdraw completely from Ukraine, and also covers topics such as ensuring food security and nuclear safety.

Allies are eager for China to attend the next round of discussions but it is unclear if Beijing will send a representative, according to the people familiar with the plans.

After a year and a half of war, Ukraine’s leaders now have a new reason to worry: Mounting political chaos in America is threatening to derail their supply of money and weapons.

Days after lawmakers shelved a vital U.S. plan to send billions of dollars in aid to Kyiv, U.S. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was ousted by his own Republican Party colleagues. Aid to Ukraine was named as one of the reasons.

In Kyiv, officials are at a loss as to what might happen next. Their staunchest military ally suddenly looks unreliable, despite assurances from President Biden and others the U.S. will remain steadfast until Ukraine’s invaders are defeated.

There is dismay and confusion in Kyiv.
